Reactions/Observations:
David Wiesner's Flotsam is amazing. Although the book is wordless, the multiple layers of photographs tell a story that connects many people and places. This book would be ideal for the older end of our age group. Children may find it difficult to understand the events occurring after the boy find the camera. The magic happen when the reader finally understands the connection between the photos. This book would be great practice for narrative skills for children by providing a good opportunity to book talk the images. The images are enchanting and make it a definite must see.
